Top 5 most anticipated 2017
So who has any buzz or hype to share about this year? Having done minimal research (and I imagine most have heard of these) my curent top 5 is this:
5. Anachrony - Trickerion designers.
4. Time Stories Expansions - 2 this year. One of Agata's favourite games.
3. Charterstone - Stonemaier AND legacy! Get on the hype train.
2. Lisboa - Vital.
1. 7th continent - Everything. This will be EVERYTHING.
(Didn't include Santorini because it's techinically 2016)
Hopeful to come out this year or at least kickstart:
pret-a-porter retheme
Carnival Zombie
Euphoria:Expansion
Sherlock Holmes expansion
+ there are a few reprints/anniversary editions out i'm looking at (Notre Dame/Co2 etc)

Re: Top 5 most anticipated 2017
In no particular order (and I'm probably forgetting a load of stuff), I think my top 5 most anticipated for 2017 are:
Charterstone - for the reasons that John mentioned
Android: Netrunner Terminal Directive - Netrunner Legacy!
Pandemic Legacy Season 2 - Season 1 was sooooo good and I trust them to do something even more incredible for Season 2
Mech Command - Real time mech tactics game with cool LED sights on the miniatures that has the potential to be amazing
Illimat - What feels like it could be a classic card game for 2 players or more, that I can easily play with friends and family without too much rules explanation but with enough strategy and twists to be interesting

My top 5, shares a little crossover with yours John
5. Anachrony
4. 7th Continent
After that,
3. Unfair, expected fairly early in the year I think...
2. Near & Far, the follow up to Above & Below
1. This War Of Mine, loved the video game, and hoping they manage to capture the atmosphere and feel of that in board game form.
In addition to that, special mentions for Santorini, really looking forward to that arriving, and Im hoping to get hold of Clank!, didn't manage to get hold of a copy during the original print run, so hoping the next print run turns up soon. Also hoping for an expansion for Roll Player, its definitely on the cards, but not sure if it will be this year or next.

All of the above!
Though of those mentioned I'm only planning to add Anachrony and Charterstone to my collection... Unless I can find somewhere else to hide my games from disapproving spouse eyes!

Other than Pandemic Legacy Season 2 I don't have anything on my radar so far. I look forward to playing everyone else's new games though!
I'm going to make a real effort this year to play more of what I already own as well as some of those games I love that I don't play enough of (i.e. Eclipse).

Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game
This is Fantasy Flight's newest LCG, based on an older CCG that used to be owned by AEG until AEG (I've typed "G" a lot in this sentence) realized they actually make all their money from Love Letter, so Fantasy Flight bought the franchise off them a year or so ago. There seem to be a lot of fond memories and respect for the Legend of the Five Rings CCG, and I think it's almost always exciting when something is remade (occasionally even with movies), and if it's remade by Fantasy Flight all the better. Probably won't get into-into it, but would definitely like to play the core set.
Ultimate Werewolf Legacy
This sounds weird enough to maybe be great. I'm not entirely sure I want to play a ton of Ultimate Werewolf, but I am very interested to see what carries over between games and chapters.
Rising Sun
BGG says that if Blood Rage is Risk, Rising Sun is Diplomacy. Blood Rage was decent. Rising Sun has striking box art and map art. And I like when creators return to work on similar concepts, because I think they must have the inclination, perhaps even the passion, as well as the additional experience that they need to do it even better than before.
I was totally ignorant to this one. I thought you were joking. That sounds amazing.
Keep posting these, folks. Google isn't giving me any top 10 lists (I'm only getting most anticipated video games), and I want to hear about things I can get excited about!

Re: Top 5 most anticipated 2017
I've already got a number of outstanding games that remain unchristened, and would also like to get more plays of some of my lesser played games in. But there are a few games coming that have my eye - in no particular order:
- Wasteland Delivery Service
- Pandemic: Legacy season 2
- This War of Mine
- Tiny Epic Quest
- Legendary Buffy
Re: Top 5 most anticipated 2017
I've got Anachrony, Pack o' Games 2, Mint Works, Lisboa, Feudum and Tiny Epic Quest on their way via their Kickstarters and I'm not going to anticipate anything else because I'm not going to buy anything else, oh no I'm not.

I'm looking forward to playing some of this years games, Terraforming Mars, Great Western Trail etc. I've ordered Mechs vs Minions so that will be getting some play soon.
Is season 2 Pandemic Legacy coming out this year? Would also like to play some older classic games that I haven't tried yet. So many games!

Aneurin & Sam - I hadn't heard about Flick Em Up - Dead of Winter either. Interesting! It sounds like the perfect Aneurin game (perhaps if there were also a euro sub-game where you had to bury all the casualties in the most efficient way).
Sam - Yep, that was Ghostel. It should be shipping this month I think, complete with paulyg card!
DaveB - Oh, yes, Legendary Buffy! Knew I was missing something. And I've not played Legendary Encounters: Firefly yet either.
Rick - On a recent Dice Tower podcast, Tom V seemed pretty confident that they were aiming for GenCon for Pandemic Legacy Season 2 but I'm not sure that's been officially confirmed.
