Card Games @ Henry's, Thurs 20th November 2014

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this, folks. Who is Henry? I don't know, but donated his name to a cafe bar opposite John Lewis (38-40 Cambridge Street, S1 4HP).

Seems like a great board game spot. Friendly, populated, but relaxed, quiet, central, great parking, less than five minutes walk from the tram, well lit, spacious, upstairs area only for reservations. Tables downstairs perhaps little narrow, upstairs tables look wider but less well lit. Either should be good though. The coffee was good, food was fine, prices seem pretty typical. Didn't check the beer prices.

So I booked under my name (Sam Vines-Stancill) and also under Sheffield Board Game Club for Thursday at 6pm. It should be an upstairs table, but the girls at the bar weren't sure if upstairs was open to bookings. No biggie either way. I should be down around 6:20.

What's going down? This is the Netrunner Novices session for those into that, and we've also maybe got a (fully booked?) game of Game of Thrones: The Card Game (it's a game!) planned. Games of Top Trumps, Strip Poker, and 1000 Blank White Card also acceptable. If you dare to play a game with a board I might get angry and escort you to the exit so if you feel like trying your luck, punk nah just kidding, everyone welcome, play what you like.

Yup, I'm bringing GoT. I will try and remember to read the rules

I should be along. I'll probably stick to Netrunner all night, although I may have a peek at GoT to see what that's all about.

I'll be there with Jack. So yes that makes 4 for GoT: Me, Kes, Jack, Sam.

Did you say you have the LOTR Card Game too Kes? Could try that too?

I can't come - I work Thursday nights and if I play games twice in one week I turn into a pumpkin. Enjoy though.

Thanks for some great games today guys. I'm definitely up for the same thing next week if you are, next Thursday at Henry's? — who's free? I'll spend a bit of time putting my own deck together this week and would love to try it out against any of yours.

Hey folks, I'd be keen to come along next time there's Netrunner being played.

Next Thursday isn't good for me, but the next couple are.

I've played the game since the start and have all the expansions, but would be more than happy to go with just core decks, or whatever.

Hey mothchoir. It'd be a pleasure to have you along. A few of us only have core sets, a few have expansions/data packs. Personally I'm happy to play against anything, it'll be fun to see new cards. Maybe we'll stick to the core for newbies.

Well, that's good to hear. If there's a meeting on the 11th I shall certainly endeavor to come along.
