As it worked so nicely this week, I'd like to suggest a two player game before 7pm again. I've got Memoir '44, Summoner Wars, Mage Wars, and Go. Anyone fancy any of those? That goes for you too, Tom (if you fancy a rematch, perhaps!).

As for a main game: Terra Mystica? Scythe? El Grande? Dare I suggest... Dungeon Lords?

That's Terra Mystica full. Also, "snaffle" is a silly word.

I heard peeps where playing Go last week! I'd be up for a game Sam, I also have a 19x19 set I can bring. It's been awhile since I've had anywhere to play Go. Does anyone else know the game? And any inkling as to skill levels etc? It's been a few years but I'm around 10-12kyu. Probably the latter given the lack of practice lol.

I have a Go board. I've played like three games. I'd be happy to play anyone who is rubbish!

I'll play any time. It's a game I would love to get good at. Scott plays too. I think that's five of us. We'll be the Sheffield Go Club before long.

There is at least one Go club in Sheffield, actually, though I haven't been. They meet on Wednesdays and Sundays at the Old Queen's Head.

That's cool, I'll be happy just to play at all lol. So its system is similar to martial arts. You start at around 30kyu and work your way down the 0 then it's starts going up in Dan levels. So 10 to 0kyu is professional amateur and Dan 1-10 is professional, that's where titles start being competed for aswell. You can only be ranked in Dan levels through official means like a tournament or a review match of other registered Dans. Like I know my rank from a tournament I was unwittingly dragged into lol. Dan levels also stop at 10 I think, that's where all the titles take over as the number of 10Dans is extremely limited despite the gigantic size of the official side of the sport. Although I'm not that into the whole official competitive part of it, its more fun to keep it casual heh.

Go is a great but stressful game. I've been along to the Queen's Head on a couple of Wednesdays. They had about half a dozen guys in who were playing varying degrees of casual games and they seemed very welcoming for newcomers. With lots of handicap I played a 5 kyu player (he won) and a 5 dan player (he won). I may pop in there occasionally when Paula has her WI night but I don't think I'll be making it a regular thing.

Judging by the one game we had, Sam and I are about the same level. What that is in terms of kyu I don't know. We could make a guess at around 20 kyu if you're thinking of setting handicaps.

I'm bringing Catan: Cities and Knights. I know there's been some interest, anyone wanna play?
