New MDF boards/playing surfaces... Empty New MDF boards/playing surfaces...

There was call last night for more MDF boards to play on... We can get these from the club kitty... Evan has kindly agreed (I don't think I bullied him into it) to pick them up from a DIY store with his van...

Just wanted to get peoples opinions on sizes and thickness... before we purchased... there was some discussion last night...

In short the boards we have are 4'x4'. Would people like smaller/same/bigger boards? 3'x3'? 6'x4'? The ones we have are probably 1cm thick and do bow slightly when on the table. Is it worth getting slightly thicker ones (the downside being that they will be heavier to lug around).

A bit thicker would be good I think...

In terms of the playing surface, the boards are about the right size, I think. At least, I don't recall running out of playing space...
As already suggested, getting slightly thicker boards would be good, if possible.

Only time I recall having issue was at that Sunday gaming thing where we played the Carcassonne megagame - got tight for space then!

I thought we agreed to never talk about that game again?

When a decision on board size is made, just let me know - I can pick them up from B&Q on a Tuesday in the van from work and bring them straight to the pub.

You can pick up cheapish folding chairs from Costco for about a tenner that are surprisingly decent. Might have to start chucking one in the car whenever I come to play Smile
