Where do you want to play...
Tuesday 15th November
To avoid a gaming day clash with the Christmas meal (6th December) we kind of agreed last night to try and shift the alternate weeks that we play to fit. So the plan is to have another gaming session next Tuesday (15th November). A few people are away... but I will be there from 8-8.30pm again.
I'll try and get Formula D from the library... think will is bringing Chrononauts.
See you there. Anyone Else?

Re: Tuesday 15th November
It will be interesting to see if we now clash with any other group, of if we don't then maybe we can get the first floor room ?
I am beginning to find the Riverside venue a bit tiresome for playing board games, especially the cramped and sticky tables and the fact we sometimes have to ask people to move from "our" alcove. If we could have a quiet room upstairs that would be far better.
What do others think ?

Re: Tuesday 15th November
Sometimes it can be a little noisy but otherwise I'm happy with the place. There was football on the big screen in the alcove last night. Eyes were wondering away from the boards (sacrilege!). Can see the value of a quiter more private room (but then we don't pick up passing trade)
I know others have grumbled about the room... maybe we should be democratic here.
Mike do you want to give the Riverside a quick call and see if a room upstairs is free next week? It might incur a charge we can't afford. Maybe we need to open a pole... which I have now done...

Re: Tuesday 15th November
I think the room upstairs in the riverside is a little dark and dingy. But I also agree that the alcove can be a bit busy/dark/sticky/noisy.

I can come next week, don't particularly have an opinion as to where we go...

Re: Tuesday 15th November
Can't say I'll all that bothered about the alcove, though I do agree the tables do tend to have a stickiness problem, specially with regards to cards. Unless we go for an establishment that either doesn't serve drinks or properly cleans then I see little hope for avoiding that one.
I'll be there next Tuesday, probably bring Last Night on Earth as I never got my Halloween gaming fix

Hi All
I'll get in touch with The Riverside about using the upstairs room.

Riveside - room free
Got a quick reply from Riverside:
The first floor room is FREE. They do have some stuff up there on Tuesdays but if we know when we need the room in advance then they can "move some stuff about".
I've explained our Tuesday fortnight pattern and also our intention to change the "phase" by meeting next week.
Chris at Riverside will check dates etc and get back to me on Monday.
So this looks good !
I have voted, and I also vote for Aneurin and Steve to be forced to ally in all games.

No just my back when you stick the knife in. Your trecherous ways haven't been forgotten... even though it was during 1 game of TI3 6 years ago!
Mike any more joy with the Riverside?
I have Formula D to bring down...

Re: Tuesday 15th November
I quite like the alcove cos it makes us public and part of a night out rather than living up to the cellar-dweller gaming geek stereotype. That said the frequent interventions of noise/drunken fools/rabid dogs etc would not be missed if we move upstairs. But can we rely on the RS to sort out the room, especially on a fortnightly (how confusing is that!!) basis?
I hope to be there tomorrow - pending Zak going off to sleep OK!
Ive updated my games list for those interested in that sort of thing https://sheffieldboardgamers.forumotion.co.uk/t20-morgans-games

Re: Tuesday 15th November
I hope to make it along this week after missing the last session. I will bring Razzia, if anyone fancies a game. It's a card game version of Knizia's Ra - less to pack but exactly the same game mechanics!

Re: Tuesday 15th November
A problem at work means I might be late, if I'm not there by 7:15 start without me and I'll have a game with the part timers or something.

Didn't vote in the poll: would vote for somewhere better, but don't know anywhere that is. The sticky tables and lighting is annoying, but is upstairs any better in this regard?

Re: Tuesday 15th November
I'm hoping we can have bigger cleaner tables at least. And privacy (for playing Aneurin's Gay Monopoly).
