Tuesday 6th January

Happy new year all.

Looking forward to playing everyone's Christmas games on Tuesday! I've got the Asia maps expansion for TTR, so I'll bring that. I'm also hoping to have Impulse in my hands later today. It's a quick playing 4X which has been getting good reviews. If I get it, I'll read the rules and bring it along.

I said I would play Doomtown with Paul. I will bring my new (to me) games though - imperial settlers, Darjeeling, Cuba (with expansion) and princes of Florence.

Will also bring ONUW and Heroes Wanted... Still only played the latter once and keen to see how it works...

I wouldn't mind another go at Imperial Settlers. Not necessarily this week so don't reserve me a spot (but I'll see how it's looking on Tuesday).

Hoping Paul will show us the ropes after Doomtown

Impulse sounds interesting Karl, I'd be up for that if you get it. Also not played Imperial Settlers yet and keen to give that a go.

I got "Escape from Atlantis" which I would like to try out, other than that there's Flashpoint and Resistance expansions that I've yet to try - any takers?

Which Flashpoint expansions have you got Dave? I have the base game, which I really like and don't play nearly as often as I should, and looked at getting the 2nd Storey one. Another that I'd certainly be keen to give a go.

Played flashpoint for first time over Christmas. Loved to try the expansions. I've bought and played a lot iof two player castles of burgundy recently but would like to try it four players at some point soon as well. Happy new year as well.

Managed to get hold of Impulse from Patriot. I've had a read through of the rules and I think I've got most of it but it'll need another read and a play through to bottom it. I'll bring it down.

Doomtown Reloaded looks flippin' complicated. I'll re-read the rules tomorrow and we can give it a go. Sounds like lots of new games again this week. I'm also keen to have another go at Heroes Wanted, Imperial Settlers, ...

I'll try and get my head around doomtown - if I can find the rules online tomorrow... Relying on you though Paul to teach me Imperial Settlers

Fair enough. I've only played Imperial Settlers once but I can give it a go!

Somebody I work with is planning on coming down on Tuesday for the first time. I don't think he's played any modern board games before so I'm looking for something cool but accessible to ease him into it. Any suggestions?

I guess it depends on what his interests are (i.e. if there's a theme that would grab him)

Sam - I'm bringing TTR: Europe/Asia anyway but will stick Catan and Takenoko in too.

I'd like to play Puerto Rico. I have had a copy for a few weeks now and still haven't played it.

I've kinda lost track - seems someone is posting a game then someone else is saying "oh I'll play that, and I'll also bring Y" Then someone one else is saying "I'll play Y and I'm also going to bring Z" and so on. I've given up trying to keep up

Yeah, I dunno what's happening any more! I'm not a fan of either Puerto Rico or Flash Point so, unless Karl wants to try Impulse, I'll probably join Paulyg & Aneurin for Doomtown and Imperial Settlers if I can.
