Twilight Imperium 4

Has anyone played it? Is it worth selling my copy of TI3 + expansions in order to get it?

I love TI3 but it takes so long to play that getting round to a game is very difficult. I've heard 4 is quicker and I'm wondering if I bought it would I be more likely to have the time to play it? Any advice?

Aneurin and Pauly G organise regular games, I think they've played TI4.

Yeah we play about once a quarter. Next game is 22nd September but I believe that now its only 6 player it is full. But I will let you know.

I wouldn't sell TI3 - the value is pretty appalling at the moment. I'd keep it a few years - especially now Christian has left FFG. Think it's value will raise considerably when new people to TI4 want to see what the other editions are like.

TI4 is very similar - things I miss from 3rd - 8 player, distant suns...
TI4 is better at Graphics, Tech and objectives
TI4 is worse because its shorter...

and I can see what they were trying to do with the trade rules - but I don't think they work...

Interested to hear more about the game being worse because it's quicker. The main reason I was considering switching to 4 is because I thought I'd be able to find more people willing to play a slightly quicker version. Is there anything in particular they've done to make it quicker that makes it worse or is it just that you preferred a longer game?
