Loving the ideas.
Unfortunately it won't be a pizza and gaming place anyway, so slice and dice won't work :p
I'm liking café legacy. I thought with that we can have legacy reward cards, where you choose a path to different rewards, but once you go one way you can't go back!
We'll keep discussing it. Who knows we may even put it to a vote... (Boaty McBoatface it is!)

Boardgame Café - Page 3 Empty Other cafes

Other than Hull, have you talked to any other cafe owners? I notice two set up via Kickstarter:

Chance and Counters (awesome name) - Bristol
The Dice Cup - Nottingham

Both (planned to) offer a cover charge so it might be good to know how that is working out for them.

Personally I think it should be a cafe for everyone that attracts gamers - with the games being the USP - so maybe instead of charging for being there charge for the games: Have a stack of (battered/old) boardgames that you can borrow for free/pocket change and others than you can rent (i.e. new ones). Does anyome know if the Dry Dock in Leeds has board games? The Riverside does but last time I was in there it was a couple of battered copies of monopoly rather than the Eurogames hub you're planning.

Whatever you do, good luck with it and maybe you'll be on the next list like this: http://www.hexjam.com/uk/travel/brilliant-board-game-cafes-and-bars-in-the-uk Smile

Afternoon. Yep we are in the process of researching other cafés, it's just finding the time!
But we are definately not looking at having a cover charge, it's the one thing we're trying to avoid. We are looking at a big enough space to have the numbers in so we don't have to. We have a few plans to overcome it though so we'll see how those pan out.
