Most Played Games
I was just trying to work out which games I have played the most of. I thought it might be interesting to hear what games you all have poured the most time and energy into, and it might help jog my memory, too.
I won't dictate whether you interpret that as most games played or most hours spent playing a game.
These two I am pretty confident of:
1. Avalon
Must be over 50 games, and they often go on for over an hour each.
2. Star Realms
Some 200 short games, I'm guessing, without looking at the app.
A few small games like Carcassonne, King of Tokyo and Shadow Hunters come out often enough to get a lot of plays, and a few long games rack up the hours: I've only played two games of Twilight Imperium but that means I've played it more than any other game I've played five times. A few others come to mind, like Netrunner, Eclipse and Imperial Assault (which we only played one campaign of but it feels like we took our time).
Your turn.

Re: Most Played Games
One of the first games I played at all was catan and I played it a lot. Still love it though I had an awful game the other day.
Splendor I've played a fair few times. Most of my own collection I've specifically bought because I can get quite a few plays in.
Bohnanza, Colt express, Jamaica
I played a hell of a lot of cosmic encounter a few years ago.
But yeah mostly Xwing

Re: Most Played Games
For a fair analysis you need to look at frequency and total play time. I've played the Star Realms app over 1000 times, but each game lasts only a few minutes. I've played Catan a lot, but I've been playing that for years. The calculation you need to make is:
Total Time Playing The Game / (Today - First Date You Played The Game)
Even then it doesn't take opportunity into account, so you should multiply your answer by the number of players needed and divide by 10 if it is available as an app.
So we now have:
(Min Players x TTPTG) / ((1+(9 x App Availability) ) x (Today - FDYPTG)
Total Time Playing The Game / (Today - First Date You Played The Game)
Even then it doesn't take opportunity into account, so you should multiply your answer by the number of players needed and divide by 10 if it is available as an app.
So we now have:
(Min Players x TTPTG) / ((1+(9 x App Availability) ) x (Today - FDYPTG)

Re: Most Played Games
A couple I forgot:
King of Tokyo I've played loads. It's a great not short, not long game.
Firefly is long so even though not my most played, probably put a fair few hours into it

Re: Most Played Games
I'm pretty confident that my most-played game is... Risk! It was installed on all the machines in the computer lab at school and we used to play it every lunchtime. We had quite the metagame going as well.
More recently it's certainly Star Realms. After that, likely Catan & Ticket to Ride I think.

Including digital versions: Carcassonne. Mainly the 360 version. I bought and played it a huge amount, as my first real introduction to proper games. Then it was given away for free to Live subscribers, so all my mates had it, and we played a bunch together.
Physical only: Agricola. The best game.

Re: Most Played Games
I'm pretty sure my most played game both in number of plays and total time spent would be a close call between Avalon and X-Wing, although I haven't played X-wing in a while and Avalon less often than I used to.
I generally choose to play a game I haven't played for a while or a new game over one I've played recently, so most of my games' play-counts only go up very gradually. The exceptions are co-ops which I'm trying to beat (Ghost Stories, Pandemic) which may get played six or seven times over a couple of weeks before going back on the shelf for a while, also there's games with some sort of serial narrative where I wouldn't want to lose the thread (Pandemic Legacy, Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, Legends of Andor) and there's a few go-to games for taking to the cafe for a relaxed Sunday lunch (Hive, Matcha, Nile, Tides of Time).

Re: Most Played Games
Star Realms followed by Race ft Galaxy - for digital reasons. Also playing quite a few other things on boardgamearena.com
On card? Star realms still factors in. Roll ft Galaxy. Eclipse - even though only 6 or 7 games. My numbers on card will be much lower than a lot of people, partly because I've never focussed heavily on one thing. Variety = spice. That said, I always want to play some more of X.

Re: Most Played Games
On computer it's probably Takenoko, followed by Carcassonne and either STar Realms or Lost Cities (because they're both so short and quick)
In card I wouldn't know. I, like Tom, go through phases of games (especiallly co-ops) with Agata, but LEgendary: Encounters might edge it on total plays/evenings spent playing. After that it's probably something I always lose at.
