I'm probs there. I'll bring Ivor the Engine. If Pauly g is coming, maybe castles of mad King Ludwig?
Re: Sunday Session 2nd October @ The Red Deer

I might be there Sunday, can't confirm just yet.
I'm off to the Lakes too. I'm going Monday though. I've never been before but going somewhere near Wyndemere, where abouts you off to?

Yeah, I've never been before either (just passed through on the train many times!). We're staying near Kendal and haven't quite figured out where we want to explore yet...Ste wrote:I might be there Sunday, can't confirm just yet.paulyg wrote:Sorry, won't be there. The Langdale Valley is my favourite part of the Lakes, if you like rugged scenery. Go for Coniston / Windermere if you like gentle scenery, Ambleside if you like expensive shops, Keswick if you like giant pencils

Thanks, that's useful! Up to now my list had simply said "Grasmere gingerbread" (a guy I used to work with always used to bring it back from his trips to the Lakes).Lizzy wrote:The Langdale Valley is my favourite part of the Lakes, if you like rugged scenery. Oh and whatever you do don't have a night out in Kendal. Gary went there for a stag do once and still has nightmares.
It has a nice cinema though.

The pencil museum is closed at the moment.
I was camping in Great Langdale. NT site and a pub where I could abuse my staff discount! Very pretty indeed. Did a load of the fells round there.
Also bought some Grasmere gingerbread but haven't tried it because it was a bunny sitting thank you present.

Gary and I had our first holiday together camping in that very campsite. I doubt it's changed much! Lovely place.

Sorry it seems the thread has been hi-jacked!
We're stopping in a family friend's holiday let and plan on making use of our NT membership for a cheap as possible holiday! Thanks for the tips though Liz, I am too, now gutted that we won't be going to the giant pencil museum.

In an attempt to get things back on track I'd like to play Mansions of Madness

Which edition? I have both if you ever fancy a game. Not Sunday. Family time
Re: Sunday Session 2nd October @ The Red Deer
I think Tom's bringing a new edition tomorrow, but happy to try a different edition another time. Away for next couple of weeks though.

Re: Sunday Session 2nd October @ The Red Deer
Good chance I'll pop along after my run (probably 2-ish) and jump in to whatever's going. Will also being Secret Hitler, just incase that's anyone's cup of tea?
Have to say, I really enjoyed the game we had last Tuesday. So close to a fascist win! I think me giving the chancellorship to Jen must have spooked Dave, and made him doubt me (enough not to put me on that final team). Awesome game though.

I loved that game so much. Amazing times. I did feel a bit sorry for Mel and Andy Adam, though!
