Re: Tuesday 21st March
*John spends half an hour explaining the ruls of CO2*
*John emphasises that in the first couple of rounds we need to cooperate to ensure the game doesn't end and we all lose*
*Nobody works together*
*Everyone dies a smoggy death*
*Fin*

Re: Tuesday 21st March
Finally got Salvation Road to the table... wish I hadn't bothered. Will definitely be going on the Bring & Buy this year.
Isle of Skye - Great little game, still love it, still suck at it!
Codenames - I sincerely apologise to my teammates for the obscure clues and tangential guesses. Still, was lots of fun and nice to play with new players. Highlight of the game was Dave and I mishearing a clue and frantically looking for words related to "Enema", while the rest of the table can't understand why we haven't selected Cat, the only "Animal" on the table.

Seconded on all counts

Yep. I'd like to play it again. I'd be interested to see how Lacerda tweaks it for the 2nd edition coming up this year - some of the terminology could be a bit better, like what 'Install' actually means (maybe like 'Build Infrastructure' or 'Fill in Paperwork' or something would be a bit more obvious)... also things like the construction cubes going to the continent if its in crisis instead of the supply could also be written somewhere on the player aid and not in the rulebook (although it probably wouldn't have changed much that game, its a bit weird that the player aid seems to have like 95% of the information needed to play the game (including end game scoring) but not things like that).
After was first time playing Carcassone with Traders and Builders for me although the Traders didn't seem to do much (only me and John had any goods by the end of the game). The club copy is also in a silly situation whereby the only rules are in German so needs an English print out unless we all want to look on phones for the rules each time...(Karl?)
Ultra Tiny Epic Kingdoms was quite good (though I did win). None of us were very aggressive, but I'm not entirely clear why lots of war would be beneficial for a player anyway - you don't get points for it (like in Eclipse, say), just the possibility of reducing someone else's points by making them take cubes off the board. Can see how subsequent plays would go quite quickly though.
And I played Chess for the first time in about 6 years against Jamie at the end of the night. Settled for a draw as they were kicking us out but Jamie was 1 (or 2? - it was late) pawns ahead of me at the end with just rooks, pawns and kings left in play. Not sure how it would have panned out if it went to its conclusion but would certainly play again sometime!

Re: Tuesday 21st March
I'll have a look at what's actually included in the Carcassonne Big Box and see if we can print out a full set of rules.
