SBGC Christmas Party 2017 DATE POLL

Ho Ho Ho, Seasons greetings. Having only just recovered from my hangover from Xmas 2016 I've discovered winter is coming, again; and it's time to start getting into the festive spirit (just what the doctor ordered - delivering presents to the billions around the world on one night is a taxing job ok!). We need to organise you fun people a jolly good time at the SBGC Xmas party in December.

For our new members - each year we get together (on one of the Tuesday evenings in December the usual 7-11pm) and organise a buffet and some party games - with prizes. A considerable amount of the kitty is sunk into the prizes and its all to play for (And I know my good friend Jamie is keen to relinquish the SBGC wooden spoon for coming in last in 2016). The fun all centres around a simple Pitchcar tournament. This is definetly a SBGC tradition now - with the title up for grabs unless JohnH comes back from Edinburgh to defend his cup. But of course you are welcome to bring any games you want to play - and generally just have fun. Karl and Aneurin will again be hosting a special Christmas edition of Avalon (I presume). Who will be the Grinch this year? Or maybe it'll be an updated Secret Satan game?

I am currently getting the Buffet menu from the Uni Arms and will post here as soon as I have the info and prices. It is usually between £9-10 for food and entry into the PitchCar tournament. For now we just need to work out an appropriate Tuesday to host the event. Hence the poll. The date with the most votes wins! You can vote for multiple dates...

P.S. I'll be organising a Secret Santa event closer to the big day. And a game related fancy dress competition. Will Kes (Sorry Mecha-dragon) keep his crown?

The Buffet will include:

A selection of Sandwiches (Turkey & Stuffing; Honey Roasted Gammon; Brie and Cranberry; Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese).
Pigs in Blankets
Stilton topped pork pie
Rosemary salt roasted new potatoes
Seasonal Vegetarian Quiche
Mince Pies

That all sounds great. Can I suggest that we request additional vegetarian / vegan options again?

Sanatlon/The Chrisistence will certainly be making an appearance, I think I need to do some repair work on a few cards.

I can do any of them. El Jefe will almost certainly come along too

Looks like I may be in Thailand around that time.
I will be able to do the 5th or the 19th depending on when / if I am away.

I've spoken to Santa and will leave this open until next Tuesday. Remind me to announce something at the meeting so we catch people that don't engage with the forum.

Ho Ho Ho... Sorry boys and girls - I've been busy sorting out my wrapping station. Some sort of Gremlin in the works was preventing the system from working. This has added a delay to proceedings I cannot afford at this time of year. As everyone else does - I'll blame Brexit.

Anyway - you lovely people have voted and it has been decided that the 19th December (a Tuesday) will be the annual SBGC Christmas party. Woo! I shall be there dishing out some secret presents I'm sure. Next what I need you to do is confirm to my helpers Aneurin or Karlb your intention to come. They will take £10 of your hard earned cash per person to use getting food (I like a good mince pie - did you know?) and some prizes for the annual PitchCar tournament.

I will get Aneurin to write a newsletter... detailing secret Santa and other fun happenings... fancy dress?
