Twice a week?
Hi guys,
I've mentioned this to a few people but thought it best to sort it on here.
Just wondering if there is any interest in having another session each week.
The Scholar have said we could have a regular session on Thursdays but they said it is their 'Party Night' so it might be noisier than last time though there will be cheap drink options (and it's pretty cheap to start with) as well as free chip butties if we have over 10 people.
Alternatively, Jeff said that we could use the Redhouse on Sundays as they have no set activity then.
So the question is; are people interested in additional session? Which would people prefer?

Re: Twice a week?
It's a no from me. I play intermittently outside of Tuesdays but I certainly couldn't commit to 2 sessions every week. The other half isn't that desperate to see the back of me. I do, however, like the idea of a Sunday all-dayer as an occasional one-off.

I couldn't commit to twice a week, but 2 days a week gives people who can't make the Tuesday meet the opportunity to get their fix.
I quite liked the Scholar, but I quite like the Red House too...

Re: Twice a week?
I'm always up for more board games, but I already play regularly on Thursdays with another bunch of people. The Scholar's also really inconvenient for me so I wouldn't want to be hiking over there on a regular basis.
Sunday all day sessions sound like a good idea though. Give us the chance to play longer stuff like Eclipse and Archipelago. Only problem I can think of is, if we're going to be there all day, does Jeff ever do food?

Re: Twice a week?
I would like to come along more than once a fortnight, but currently home and work stuff don't leave much room for that.... there's a possibility after September I may be able to get out a bit more often....but no way I would want to get out more than once a week.
Re: Twice a week?
I'd be great to have the option to play more than once a week, and I probably would.
I like the idea of going to different places, for variety, but I wonder how well the party will mesh with the boardgames. I like the idea of longer sessions at the weekend even more: as CocoaCocoabo says, more time for epic games.

Re: Twice a week?
I can only make once a week, max. Would like to do more, but could only do the odd one off in addition to Tuesday.

Re: Twice a week?
If it was happening twice a week, I may occasionally pootle along on weeks where I've missed the other session. As much as I love games, I don't always have enough hours in a week to do things I want/need to do.
Re: Twice a week?
A longer session would be good on occasion. Give me a chance to break out merchants of venus/sid meiers civ.
Another midweek session would give me options but i dont think the wife would let me out twice a week for gaming.

Re: Twice a week?
As someone who loves board games but can't make it during the week, a Friday, Saturday or Sunday would be great. Â Would love to come down and play. Â Is the plan still going to be the first Sunday of the month or has that altered since the first date?

Awesome Kes.
I have a week off in two weeks so I'm planning to come along to that Tuesday - 17th I think.
Did you play much Lord of the Rings?

Re: Twice a week?
Yeah, I've played it quite a lot with my brother. Did the Shadows of Mirkwood and moved on to khazad-dum expansion. Haven't played it in a bit now but definitely pleased with the purchase. Cheers!
Re: Twice a week?
Excellent, glad you like it.
Now finances are a little less strained, I'm going to be rebuilding my collection. If you are ever itching for a game, give us a shout. I'll be right back at the start though (the fun of collecting )

Re: Twice a week?
I can't commit to more than once every fortnight (and probably a monthly Sunday session) - between life and work I doubt I'd be able to make more - although meeting on Tuesdays/Thursdays gives me a bit more flexibility in when I go I guess
Re: Twice a week?
I think the fact that The Scholar closes at 11 and we pretty much have to be out by half past loses it major points compared to The Redhouse. While there was a fair bit of interest and it would give people more options, I think we'll leave it with the Sunday sessions for now unless we suddenly get an influx of new people.
Re: Twice a week?
I seem to be working all the Tuesday's under thr sun with no chance of change, are we still thinking twice a week or is it still just going to be the extra first sunday of every month?
