Ok, I had to look up Rama on Wikipedia

"He is pictured as the ideal man and the perfect human."

Yep.

But, no, hopefully back to normal now so I should be down most weeks! And, as you can see from the top of this thread, I've got quite a backlog to play through!

I was thinking more of the ship from the Rama Series by Arthur C Clarke... the object that turns up in Earth orbit every so often...

It passed out of hand some time ago. Not worth worrying about now. Just buy some games to take your mind off your problem.

Got in a couple of games of Black Fleet this weekend, really enjoyed it (in fact after the first game I bought a copy too Smile)

Was a cracking good weekend.

Are they the original AD&D books? That's pretty cool. I've started playing some of the old classic CRPGs based on that rule-set. I wouldn't mind them on my shelf just as a geeky historical document. What would you pay me to take the burden off your bookshelf?

Ah, unfortunately we gifted the unsold stuff to UKGE to be sold with proceeds donated to charity. Kat did not want to return with any of the stuff we took down! But, yes, they were original books from the late 70s. Not rare though and not in particularly good condition (I never used them but was given them a few years ago).

Speaking of which, still planning to be there Tuesday, Paul? I can't stop for games this week, but I'll nip down to pick this up if you're there.

No, that should be on the sold list too. I realise I forgot to add the things I made the late decision on. Will update at some point if I can find the receipt of what sold / didn't sell from the Bring n Buy!

For what it's worth, my issue with it was that I found the both the aesthetic and the mechanics a bit 'fiddly'. But I fully accept that I'm in the minority here!

Paul,

Did you ever play Terra Mystica? Is it like Catan?

Yes, I've played it a few times. It has some similarities to Catan in that there is an area control aspect and some resource management. But it's more complex and there is essentially no luck (no dice, no cards) though there is randomness in the setup. Each faction also has different powers so it's asymmetrical to an extent.

I really, really like it and am always keen to play it some more if you're interested...
