Games for kids
I'm wanting to get a board game for some friends who have a son who's 4/5 ish.
I was thinking Rampage, but is that still too young for that? Is there anything suitable for that age? If not I'll just get something for the parents.

Re: Games for kids
I tried Rampage out on my two (4 & 6 at the time) they liked the idea of being monsters but lacked the dexterity to accurately flick the tokens (despite being allowed several extra flicks) the 4yo got bored quite quickly and wandered off.
I then tried them with Catan which was much more successful. We played with open hands so that I could give them hints and I helped them place their starting settlements but they son got the hang of it. Throwing the 7 and being able to rob Daddy was a particular delight for them!
We've also successfully played Tsuro with them with only a little guidance required.
If you'd like to borrow Rampage for them to try out I'd be happy to oblige.

I actually think some of the Lego board games are brilliant for that age. We have a few - Lego creationary is superb. You can play for as long or a short as you want - which is an advantage when attention wanders. The other lego games are generally themed but go down well - we have a pirate game, chima game and Batman game.
I always wanted to get 'animal upon animal' for my kids. http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/17329/animal-upon-animal
Going to get the 'kids of Carcassonne' this year off Santa.
There is a Catan Junior.
And don't rule out 'go away monster' - my 5/6 year old still loves that game... although now it's extremely hard to get hold of.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'll do some research into those.
Paul, thanks for the offer of borrowing Rampage, but my friends live in Manchester and I don't see them too often.
