Gaming bags Empty Gaming bags

Post  karl_b Sun 24 Aug 2014, 19:34

Evening all.

Something for discussion/to ponder - would anyone be interested in any game bags, a couple of options in particular?

Firstly, a mate of mine plays Marvel Dice Masters and as t'other half is pretty handy with a sewing machine he's asked her whether she'll make a couple of small Marvel themed cloth drawstring bags. He's still choosing fabric but if anyone else was interested then we could order more and make several; probably looking at a few quid each, depending on fabric costs.

Secondly, something I've mentioned before is making some big game bags/totes. I regularly bring games in a 'bag for life' but if it rains then they get wet and they're also carried on their side which result in pieces getting messed up. And I do hate disorder. So, I've floated past her the idea of a large format, waterproof bag. Could store games vertically or horizontally, could have a lid or strap? Waterproof fabric might be pretty limited but there's always the option to have something else (I'm sure I've seen meeple fabric) or possibly incorporate the club logo somehow?

Anyway, food for thought and other suggestions welcome. I really should have mentioned this at the beginning of the school holidays, not the week before she goes back to work!

The idea of a big bag to hold games horizontally is certainly quite appealing. Would definitely be nice to incorporate the logo too.

I'd be potentially interested in all aforementioned baggage.

Sounds good. It would really need to be fully waterproof, just enough to keep the rain off while you run from the car. For me anyway.

I'd be interested in bags for games as well - I have the same problem with keeping them sideways and getting them wet.

I was hoping to have knocked together version 2.0 to bring this week after the big red pizza bag I brought last week but haven't had chance. Still waiting on delivery of Marvel fabric for the dice bags.

Sooooo, the big game bag still hasn't reached version 2.0.

However, the first batch of Marvel dice bags are just about ready. Anyone interested in a pair, in the fabric below?

Gaming bags $_12

£7 a pair, £1 of which will go to the club kitty; I'll bring them down to the club on Tuesday if anyone's interested. I've got 3 pairs to start with, can make more as required.

About 18 x 12cm. Forgot to say that they're drawstring.

Is it still possible to get hold of one of these or has that ship sailed?

Thinking it would make a good bag for Carcassonne pieces. Although thinking about it, would 12 x 18 be big enough for that?

That depends on how many expansions you add! :-)

Good point!

Lets just assume base game (2015 edition) for now. I'd probably get maybe 1 or 2 of the expansions at some point later down the line.

We can certainly make some more, depends on what fabric you want.

Those who I sold Marvel bags - it's come to my attention that the chord I used might be a bit naff, if it's started fraying let me know and I'll bring you something more suitable.

There are options of fabric? Oh you spoil me. Not too fussed though really. Perhaps something plain with a Meeple on it seeing as its for Carcassonne. If that's doable.

On our travels this summer we stumbled upon more excellent fabric - Star Wars, Walking Dead, Marvel and generic dice. I (Jess) plan to make some more bags up if there's the demand? £7 a pair still, £1 of which goes to the club kitty.
