Twilight on 11th Jan?

There is a plan to play Twilight Imperial 3rd edition on Sunday 11th Jan... early till late at Paul G's (if he is still cool with that - Nat won't let me out on Saturday). It will literally take 8-12 hours

I have all the expansions so it can play up to 8 people. There was interest was Jamie and DaveB... anyway - show you interest here:

That sounds good to me. I'll also provide general snacks, drinks, etc.

Is it worth us newbies trying to read through the rules online in advance? I'm assuming there's quite a lot to absorb?

I strongly suggest reading the rules! Honestly there isn't that much to it.
The hardest part for newbies is understanding system activation using command counters...

Combat is easy

Building is easy

Politics is all card driven

The rest relies on actual group mechanics.

I'm not going to make it I'm afraid. Sunday mornings I normally (unless death in family or 2 foot of snow) do a long run. Someone else should take me place.

The day of Twilight fast approaches Paul! As I say if you can get your head around activating a system - and the use of command counters the rest is fairly intuitive.

I'll be there. I've cranked open the manual enough to go "oh crikey" and close it again - not something to attempt with a New Year's hangover! - I will however try again before Sunday

To get you in the mood for Sunday - I have randomised the player order and races you can choose from (Tim was our offical adjudicator), pick 1 race of the 2 to play and I will highlight the choice here:

1 - Dave: Mentak Coalition or Naalu Collective
2 - Steve: Universities of Jol-Nar or Yssaril Tribes
3 - Tom: Winnu or Barony of Letnev
4 - Alex: Xxcha Kingdom or Embers of Muaat
5 - Aneurin: Nekro Virus or Shardak-Norr
6 - Ellis: Federation of Sol or Clan of Saar
7 - Tim: L1Z1X Mindnet or Emirates of Hacan
8 - Paul: Arborec or Yin Brotherhood

This should give you a bit of time to look up strategies for your chosen race...
