We're running a three team game intro game of x-wing if anyone is interested. We have one space left. Liz n I have worked out some fun lists to you (just about)

That's assuming Ste, Paulyg and Paul are still playing.

Re: Tuesday 2nd June
Deal. The plan is for Liz, Paul and I to front one team each as we have played before. Do the padawans want to pick which faction they'd like to play? Empire, Rebel or Scum?
Re: Tuesday 2nd June
I'll be there and will bring a few things with me. I'm in the middle of reading the Song of Ice and Fire "History" book, which is giving me a hankering to play Game of Thrones. Anyone fancy it if I have a refresh of the rules?

Beardy Tom's played before as well. Do you and Paul want to go together, and Kes and I will have the complete freshers?

That could be a big ask for a Tuesday Night good luck tho!

I definitely fancy it Karl. Sadly, I won't be able to make it until late this Tuesday. I'd definitely love to play it some other time.
Re: Tuesday 2nd June
How long does a game of Game of Thrones last, by the way? Is there time to fit it in on a Tuesday evening?
Re: Tuesday 2nd June
Sometimes it goes quickly and you get it done in a few hours. if you have to do rules explanation and there are lots of clashes, it can go on for a very long time

It's not that complicated to play but it *looks* really intimidating and takes a while to go through it all. We had a "fast" game and it took around 3.5 hrs with rules explanation...
Its a great game but the play length is a bastard to estimate as there are so many variables.
Re: Tuesday 2nd June
Cool. It looks super awesome. Totally want to play it. Just have something on this Tuesday (will be there later for Avalon though). If you do play it on Tuesday; hopefully it'll get played again some other time.
Re: Tuesday 2nd June
Yes please! I'll be on the team of whichever of you two is the national champion by Tuesday :-)Lizzy wrote:Kes wrote:We're running a three team game intro game of x-wing if anyone is interested. We have one space left.

Re: Tuesday 2nd June
Have to cast a shadow of doubt over xwing I'm afraid. It's possible won't be able to come. Hopefully all will be fine though
Re: Tuesday 2nd June
If X-Wing is still on I'll play as planned. Would like to go Imperials or maybe Scum.

Ok cool, I'll bring it just in case. We'll need a large(ish) board. 3' x 3' if possible.

Cheeky request for Splendour if you don't mind bringing it down Evan?
For some reason this game has got in my head and I woke up the other night having dreamt about it!

If anyone has shorter filler games I'm feeling like playing a whole bunch of things through the night rather than the usual one larger game.
I'll bring standard love letter and eight minute empire - both of which were very well received by friends on a weekend away recently. The love letter story is quite ridiculous but the game play is very interesting.
On a side-note - I assume the other versions of love letter are simply theme changes rather than gameplay changes?

There's a minor change in Batman Love Letter where you can also get a victory token by correctly identifying someone using the batman card. Otherwise they are identical.

Kes, Is the x-wing started game still on? I have a friend threatening to turn up dressed as an Ewok, he's so keen to try it...?
I and a few others will be there to play some lighter games

Hobbit Love Letter is slightly different also. The Baron card (compare hands, lowest is out) is replaced by two separate cards: Legolas and Tauriel. Legolas works the same as the Baron, but with Tauriel the two players compare hands and the person with the higher valued card is out.
There is also a One Ring card, this card has a value of zero unless there is a comparison at the end of the game, in which case it takes a value of 7.
As a result of adding two additional cards, successfully using the Guard card (Smaug) is more difficult.
