Can I put myself down on the reserves list; and get a spot if anyone drops out.

Having no idea what the hell I'm doing I'll go for "Ghosts of Creuss"

I'll have another read through the rules before the game and try to check out some vids to get me someway up to speed...

Hi guys, I think i am going to pull out on this one, I did a 6 hour stint of Eclipse with Jamie a few weeks back and it was far too long a game for me. Noting that it makes me think Imperium might finish me off! Sorry to cancel but hopefully Jamie can take my place and there is no disruption to the game.

To be clear, thank you to Jamie for taking the time to talk us through the game and give us a chance to experience something new. Even if he almost ended up regretting it by giving us the win!

I think it will be the shorter games in future for me...

Please may I join the reserves list?

No problem! It was a very close game in the end, think I won by 1 point. At end of game, 41 VP for me, 40 for you, 37 for Tom; did I remember that right?

It's tricky introducing Eclipse to new players; on the one hand you want to win, but on the other, you want to explain the game well to new players and ensure they have fun playing and will come back for more. I love the game, it's super awesome. Quite a bit different to TI3, which seems to have more meta-game and politics going on, and less emphasis on combat.

Hope we didn't put you off Eclipse for good though. It's an epic game; if people know how to play and know what they're doing, and don't dawdle, you should be looking at maybe 4 hours for a 4 player game. If anyone wants to play another time, let me know and I'll set something up.

Agreed - am willing to give up my seat to her if no-one else drops out. I've already got one big space game to get my head around as it is (Forbidden Stars)

With Allie being unwell, I can't leave her to look after the kids all day on her own if she's having a bad day. So rather than possibly pulling out at the last minute, I'll step out now. Count me in next time.
