Other board gaming clubs in the region.
Thought it might be a nice idea to maintain a list of other board gaming clubs in the local area...
Chesterfield Open Gaming Society
Sorry, I only know one, but it's a start...

Anyone know much about them? Their website indicates miniatures-based action.
There are one or two websites which provide such information. Meeplemapper is one I've looked at. I think Lizzy mentioned one at some point?

Re: Other board gaming clubs in the region.
Just been looking at the one Lizzy mentioned, www.meeple.city I think it was.
I know Dale goes to the one in Chesterfield. Looking at their site, they do look very miniature-centric. If you look closely though, you'll see Archipelago, and also Dale mentioned they play Spheres of Influence (which you need to try Sam) from time to time. I'll go check them out at some point..

COGS is a mix of board games and miniature games. On a Monday there's usually 2 - 3 miniature games going and 3 or 4 board game tables. There's also a rpg group upstairs. The Facebook page tends to be a bit mini-centric - I'll have to make an effort to put more board game photos on there!
Archipelago will have been mine
It's a bit smaller than Sheff, and of course all welcome.

Likewise with the Rotherham group, do they have a site or Facebook page?
Also, had a look on their Twitter feed, and I'm sure I spotted a familiar face...

Facebook. I've sent you an invite. I've never actually been yet. It's on a Thursday night which isn't great for me... I work until 8.30pm. I found out about this from a guy I met at Patriot games during an IA event. Another Craig. It's so close to my house I'm tempted to go one evening.
Karl - it's like a giant game of resistance

I know all those guys - original Craig (Rilkyn here), Rick and also a guy called JP. He was part of GIMPS and then Wargames FC.

Perhaps we should organise an away day at some point? A few of us warn them and go along for some gaming? Challenge them to some Roll?

I'd be up for that Sam, well, not so much Rolling for the Galaxy, but a travelling around a bit and checking out some other clubs as a group.

Sheffield Wargames club.
They run triples every year.
Mostly wargamers but some down there do play board games. I've played Fury of Dracula, Twilight Struggle, Shogun, Dune and Nuke em' amongst others. All very combative!
They did meet on Tuesday nights at the Polish club on Ecclesall Road 7-10:30
