Can I join Game of Thrones? Happy to get there earlier (and Jamie I don't know what you're talking about)

Anyhow, I'll try and get there for 6:30. Will print out a few player aids too. See you all there!

I have somebody's copy of Forbidden Desert, not sure whose though, but I was involved in playing it when they left. I'll be there next week so I can bring it with me if its owner is coming then as well.

Re: Tuesday 15th November
We almost managed to finish Game of Thrones. We just had one turn to go and it was looking pretty certain that Scott would win.
It's a good game, with some very nice mechanisms in it. I'd like to play again and I think I'd find it a very different game knowing what I'm doing from the start. It does have some problems, though. There is the same issue that you can get with Twilight Imperium in that you could easily get completely demolished by a neighbour early on and spend a frustrating couple of hours struggling to do anything at all, as happened to Jen and Christos in this game and to Sam in our last TI3 game.

Only the second time I've played it, and I like it more each time I play.
I'm thinking, it you're aware of potential damage a neighbour can do on any given round, and you plan for that, that will go a long way to limiting damage to your empire. It's when you overlook or don't consider things, when the problems start.
I really like it, would love to play quite a few more games, to really get the hang of it. Does take a while to play though.
Was also great that it was played in such a friendly way!

I think it's a game that you'd need to play a number of times with the same group to really get into it and allow a bit of a meta-game to emerge. That's unlikely to happen in the context of the club, though.

Yeah, it's a bit of a squeeze for a Tuesday evening. Be happy to play Sunday or Saturday afternoon sometime.

Very nearly...we got swamped by the sand when we only needed to survive a couple more turns or so to win. It was good fun though!
