Re: Tuesday 16th June
Greetings!
Anyone up for Battlestar Galactica this Tuesday? I do have the Pegasus expansion but we can play vanilla as well.

Re: Tuesday 16th June
Hi all,
I'd be up for paranoia risk, but don't know if the above post means its cancelled?
Due to the work situation improving, I'm expected to be around consistently for the next 5 weeks or so.
I'm happy to bring:
8 minute empire: legends
Gravwell
guillotine
Catan (vanilla 5-6)
Carcassonne (vanilla)
Games I would like to play:
longer:
Terra Mystica
Castles of Burgundy
puerto rico
agricola / caverna
caylus
lords of waterdeep
shorter:
7 wonders / fairy tale
roll for the galaxy
for sale
biblios
eminent domain
downfall of pompeii
puzzle strike
I'm also very open to suggestion!
cheers all,
sam

Re: Tuesday 16th June
Oh thought this was the thread for Sundays at Paul's. I will be there on Tuesday for Risk!

Sorry about the confusion with the 'I can't make it' post; I was out and about and using the forum on my phone and posted on the wrong thread. I'll be there on Tuesday. I'll put you down for a spot in the paranoia Risk game.
Re: Tuesday 16th June
That's grand cheers Jamie. My lists of requests and offers can stand for future weeks

Re: Tuesday 16th June
No problem, I've removed you from the list Yeomans.
We're back down to 4 for paranoia Risk, hope we can get 6 on the night. I imagine the game would be super cool with 6, and relatively (in Risk terms) short.

Re: Tuesday 16th June
I played 3 games...
1. Paranoia Risk.
We all had a secret mission to eliminate one other player. First player to die, whoever has the mission to eliminate that player, wins the game. I thought I was in with a chance; but sadly, I played my hand too early. When I moved all my armies from South America, it was obvious I was gunning for someone. Before I got to finish off Green (my player to eliminate), I was pecked at by Sam, and then whittled down by Tom; and on (the other) Sam's go, he wiped out (pink) Sam, and won the game.
Really enjoyed the game, esp. with 6 players, this variant prevents the game from going on and on and on.
2: Machi Koro with Harbour expansion.
I normally enjoy this, but for some reason, it wasn't fun. Felt a bit cramped on a small board with 5 players (hard to see what other people have), and also I was itching to play Avalon at 10...
3: Avalon.
Had to re-deal the role cards about 4 times! People kept opening their eyes at the wrong time, or not opening them. When we eventually got going; I was Merlin, and I did try to help good; but for some reason, nobody trusts me! I can't think why. I have a completely honest face...
I've done it myself too, in other games, where there's an experienced player, and I don't want to feel like they're getting one over on my, so I'll jump to the conclusion that they're evil. I'd make that decision, too soon, and on too little evidence. As a regular good guy, I guess it helps to ask yourself, why do I consider them to be evil or good? Is it because of who they are, or are their actual in-game indicators that suggest they're good of evil?
Not sure how I could have played Merlin better. I felt I was already a bit too blatant in the role, and some other good players just weren't trusting me.
In the end, evil won; but we all live to fight another day...
