Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
Gary and I will be driving down on Thursday and coming back Sunday.
So I won't need a lift with you after all Paul. We might as well take another car and park at the Hilton.
We're taking Kes back on Sunday, but otherwise have space for people/games.

Cool, I'll book a ticket then and double check Jess doesn't need the car!

£98 at Premier Inn for 1 night :/ Next year I'll follow Paul's example and book a year in advance... so have they announced the 2017 dates yet?

Not yet, but I'd expect them to announce it fairly soon after this year's expo.Sam wrote:£98 at Premier Inn for 1 night :/ Next year I'll follow Paul's example and book a year in advance... so have they announced the 2017 dates yet?

Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
Last year the 2016 dates were in the programme. So you can book whilst actually at the expo :-) At this rate of growth, I'm guessing hotel rooms will be an increasing problem...
Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
The advantage of being from the West Midlands. I'll always have a very cheap hotel room

Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
I can offer a lift down on the Thursday afternoon (looking to set off around 1pm) if anyone is looking for a lift. Unfortunately I can't offer a lift back as I'll have the DaveB entourage with me.

Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
Should we have the usual club meet-up on the Saturday, when it appears the majority of us will be there? Early afternoon, say 2pm, near the Expo library for the team photo and a few games?

Sounds like a plan. The library will be at the NEC at that time

Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
Good plan, Karl. I also thought it might be good to have a WhatsApp messaging group for the expo to allow us to meet up, recruit for games and share tips. As this show expands it gets increasingly difficult to find people!
I'm not trying to usurp this forum, but I think WhatsApp is a little better for time-sensitive messaging in an event situation. Hit me up on WhatsApp (my number is 07590532087) if you want in...

It's ok, we can wire all the messages to you via telegraph and keep a copy on wax cylinder for posterity.

See and here was me working on some joke about TCP/Smoke Signal

Re: UK GAMES EXPO 2016
We'll try not to! How old is it? Does it have web access? WAP? Can still try to post any main meet ups and stuff here but obviously that may not help if you won't have access to the forum...evan wrote:paulyg wrote:Good plan, Karl. This sounds like a good idea Dave.

You guys carry on with your new fangled techno stuffs... I'll be wandering around oblivious - just phone me on my tin can if anything exciting is going on!

Ditto. My phone's not a Nokia but it's app-less. And my tin can hasn't been rinsed out properly, a bit of chopped tomato gunge stuck in the little furrow around the bottom (I really need to get a toothpick in there and clean it out), so it can be difficult to hear.

I particularly want to try out Quadropolis at the expo (and then will likely buy it if I enjoy it).
Having backed the "This War of Mine" KS I'll be very curious if I see anyone playing one of the prototype copies at the expo

Beyond that I have a short list of older games I might pick up and then it's just going to be wandering around seeing what I see!
