6th March - REMEMBER @ The 3 Cranes

Remember this will be the 1st meet in the NEW VENUE:

The Three Cranes, 74 Queen Street, Sheffield.

I should be there (If Nat has forgiven me for getting a parking ticket at said pub) from 8pm. We will be in the upstairs room. The staircase is towards the back end of the pub. Either door in will get you to the bar area.

I'll bring, Dungeon Run (seemed I should have remember it last time!), Panic Station and Space Bastards (mainly because I like getting away with shouting rude words!)

I'll be there. Do we have to announce our presence to the barstaff or slink upstairs hoping nobody spots us ?

I suggest you speak to the bar staff and just advise you are a member of the boardgame club and then head upstairs.

After downloading the Tigris & Euphrates iOS app I'm addicted again. Forgot how intense it can be. So I'm going to bring that down. Oh and dungeon run as I can't stand the look of disappointment in Steve and Jons face when I turn up with Dixit and Space Bastards again.

Nothing special... Just turn up at the 3 cranes. Gaming starts at 7pm. I think we are playing upstairs and you can just ask the barman where the room is.

I won't be there this week now. I've caught another bug... Either from the flight back fr Canada or the germ factories that are my kids! Craig and the others will make you welcome though I'm sure.

I was going to say a similar thing about turning up but Aneurin beat me to it.

I'll be bringing M+M with me if anyone wants to try it out. Me and Emi had a few games and I think you can win the game faster if you become a pirate rather than a trader, but its much riskier. I've played four games of it now and I was a little disappointed with the lack of player interaction, you really have to go out of your way to attack someone else. One main rule that we got wrong last time was that moving into a port is a separate action to doing the port actions, this makes a big difference to the speed of gaining victory points.

I thought the new venue was fine tonight. Ealy free parking outside and a better upstairs room that at Riverside. Plenty of tables and a nice quiet atmosphere.

The pub itself was a real one; a bit run down but had character. It was like plaing board games in the Rovers Return :-)

Looking forward to the same again in 2 weeks.

Hello Sheffield Boardgamers! - Just a quick message to introduce myself: I'm Evan, I live in Sheffield, I'm looking to get back into playing boardgames more often.... I've got young kids, and my wife and I both work odd shifts, so when we sit down together we often don't have enough energy to sit down and consentrate on a game. Tuesday nights are usually a good night for me to get out of the house however, so I'd like to come down and meet you folks at your next meeting if that's ok!? - So it will be the 20th March at the 3 Cranes? - Shall I just turn up? - Do I need to bring anything with me?

Hi Evan, yeah the next meet will be on the 20th at the 3 cranes. a new post will be put up nearer the time discussing what games people are bringing or want to play etc. I should be there (barring anymore bugs caught from my kids!). Games usual start at 7pm and you just turn up. We play ib the upstairs room. You can ask the barman how to get up there.

So I can get the kids in bed I don't often show till 8pm.
