Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
Anyone interested in one deck dungeon on kickstarter? Looks pretty good but postage to the UK is pretty steep. But there's a bulk option of 12 decks. I'd be happy to get 1 or 2. Any other takers? Works out at $24 per deck inc postage for the bulk order

I'm broke after sinking $150 into Catacombs. Gulp. Now I have 25 days to convince Nat that the children need this game

Good thing you're not about to attend any expos with massive selections of tempting games...Aneurin wrote:I'm broke after sinking $150 into Catacombs. Gulp. Now I have 25 days to convince Nat that the children need this game.

At least when I am turfed out on the street I'll have plenty of boxes to sleep in.

I'd offer you space here, after all I'm only round the corner, but I suspect if I overcook things this weekend I might end up in a similar boat

Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
Who's spending their money on this then?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1296268806/the-duchess-a-gaming-table-from-boardgametablescom
Still expensive, of course, but a lot less than other gaming tables that I've seen (because of the standardisation). This would be nice, but I really like the big table that we already have.

I'm trying to convince Nat

Yes we need your table! What would happen with TI3!

Yeah, don't worry, I'll be keeping the giant table. Though I am wondering about a felt topper for it (possibly even with a rail and cup-bolders)...Aneurin wrote:I'm trying to convince Nat.

Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
I know it's better for not dropping stuff and spelling drinks but I'm not sure I'd want to play on a table with a deep rim, seems awkward
Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
I do need a new table, but I agree it seems weird to play sunken down like that. And it's still crazy expensive!

Yeah, I think the big lip is so that you can put the dining room table topper on it and leave a game (e.g. with miniatures) set up underneath. I think a very slight lip would be nice, but 2.5" is a bit too deep.
Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
It's approx £525 for the full thing with delivery. That's actually not that expensive for a main dining table
Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
Yeah, and certainly way cheaper than Geeknson or GeekChiq. Only concern would be the quality - looks ok from the video and pics but being a Kickstarter I guess you have somewhat limited comeback if it's disappointing.Kes wrote:It's approx £525 for the full thing with delivery. I watched a video of Rahdo going over his table (a Geeknson job) and he talked about similar concerns - he found he really liked it - Guess it's really something you should try before you buy if you can!
I'd love to get one of these tables but it's very hard to justify the cost (and ones like this KS that come in a *lot* cheaper I'd have concerns about quality etc) - one for the lottery win (and building my perfect game room) list

Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
I'm going to back this to get the new red expansion for Stak Bots:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/643459158/stak-bots-red-a-sneakily-strategic-tabletop-card-g?ref=category
You can get a 3-pack for £24 inc. shipping if anyone else is interested? Kes? Lizzy?

Also you never lose bits - rolling dice off tables, small counters etc...
Re: Kickstarter is killing me...
Did anyone back Scythe? It looks ace. I may have room in my collection for a 4X game, when it goes on general sale, but I wonder how often I'd get it to the table.

Yep I backed it. And, from what I hear, it's about 30% 4X and 70% Euro fun. Should be right up your street, Karl! Looking forward to it arriving.karl_b wrote:Did anyone back Scythe? It looks ace.
