Board game friendly pub
Hello.
Does anyone have any suggestions for good, boardgame-friendly pubs in Shef?
A friend & I can't often make Tuesdays so we need a quiet spot for some squad leader.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers
James

Re: Board game friendly pub
To be honest, I don't think there are many pubs that would turn away patrons these days. As long as there's enough room, you're not disruptive and you buy drinks I'm sure you'll be very welcome. Is suggest you ask them first, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
Club evening and organised events aside, I've played at the Hillsborough Hotel and the Devonshire Cat, both were very accommodating.

Yep, both the Hillsborough Hotel and the Dev Cat are good options. I'd also recommend the Rutland Arms, The Red Deer and the Uni Arms, but the last one is still closed for refurbishment (I think).
There's a whole list here: http://www.sheffieldboardgamers.com/t385-board-game-friendly-pubs-for-extra-sessioning

Thanks for the list. We had considered a few of those places but events/gigs/quizzes put us off.
I hadn't considered the Brew Dog place, thought it was for the cool kids.

We've played games in the Red Deer a few times. They even have a small collection of (mostly terrible) board games. The tables aren't massive, but card games/smaller board games should be fine.
