New Game Ideas...
So what are people wanting the club to get next?
Some suggestions from me...

I'll add Game of Thrones, the board game to that list. Any other suggestions?
I'll let this run for a couple of weeks and then compile the usual list to pick from.

Re: New Game Ideas...
Road Kill Rally looks good from The Dice Tower's review, but £50 seems a little pricey, considering the box contents.
Blood Bowl looks to be a good choice and I'd certainly be interested in playing it. I still have an Elf team for the original GW board game knocking about somewhere.
I've seen a review for Wiz-War on YouTube, but it doesn't really give a good account of the actual gameplay side of things, so I can't really give an opinion on it at this stage. I can't really find much on The Village either, other than what's been linked above.
I'll get back to Game of Thrones, since I've yet to look into it.
I've seen a couple of games recently that appeal, namely Khet 2.0, which features lasers and mirrors (although it only caters to two players) and The Walking Dead board game, which seems to be decent enough rather than just a cheap cash-in on the licence, but might not have enough depth for others.
Besides those, I still need to try Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan, but I'm guessing some of us have them already. Besides that, um, Talisman? I haven't tried 4th edition yet, so dunno how it differs from the original...

I always thought talisman dragged on... You could work your way right to the end to be sucked into a black hole to start again! Repeat for 4+ hours!
Re: New Game Ideas...
Well, yeah, there is that (can't say I've ever actually finished a game, TBH). I've only ever played the original, though. Do you know if the 4th edition's changed that at all?
Re: New Game Ideas...
Different but might be worth considering:

Cheaper here: http://www.gameslore.com/acatalog/PR_Road_Kill_Rally_Board_Game.html
I know a guy at home who plays with Paul the owner in Telford. He gets 10% off. So that would be £37. The other advantage is that he can pick it up, pass it to my folks to bring to Sheffield and we save the £5 postage.
We could also get Steve to pick up from the Guru now that he is in London.
I think I was a student trying to skrimp and save for far too long. Then I got married and had kids and that didn't change!

This gets my vote:

Re: New Game Ideas...
Funny you say that, my RPG group's just decided on our next batch of games. Amongst them is the absurdly-named Panty Explosion, wherein the characters are all Japanese school girls.Aneurin wrote:Board game paedophilia?
Really, I'm not making this up!
Meanwhile, back to the topic at hand, I've also just noticed FFG's upcoming Infiltration. I don't think it's out yet, but it certainly looks to me to be good for future investigation.
Re: New Game Ideas...
Gue something like le'havre or Lora-et-labora would make sense to include.
Also still keen on MIL(1049)... It's on special offer at guru ATM.

I've got The Walking Dead game which I will bring down soon.
I'll pull a list of games together some time this week for voting.

Is anyone interested in this? It should have arrived by our next meeting.rain242 wrote:I've also just noticed FFG's upcoming Infiltration. I don't think it's out yet, but it certainly looks to me to be good for future investigation.
Here's a review...
Re: New Game Ideas...
Wizwar is a really old game that has been given a face lift and hefty price tag. I looked into this a few months back and everyone that has played it has loved it. I was looking at making my own verson. On the list of projects
