Discussing when/how we start meeting again
I suspect it will still be a while before we can have any sort of real-life group meet-up again, but we could start thinking about what we need to do to prepare.
What are your thoughts about when you might be willing to meet up again, and what processes we'd need to have in place - e.g. would we have to have more definite separate groups playing together rather than people mingling and swapping all evening? Would there be some sorts of games you wouldn't play?

It's a tough question to answer, places like the Treehouse are back open again and pubs are open with social distancing in place. If you are fit and well, the current rules are that you can socialise with members of up to 2 households.
Personally, I would be happy to start playing games again, adhering to these rules, but obviously other people's situations will be different. We will probably need to contact Uni Arms and Red Deer to see if they are still able to accommodate us.

On the other hand, the loosened rules led to the number of cases going back up, and as of today the official rules are tightening again in certain areas (admittedly not Sheffield (yet?), but Manchester is pretty close). I'm still expecting a second wave in this country (but probably not as bad as the one in America), so my current gaming plans involve sticking to 2-player games with my husband and larger games on BGA/boardgames.telemin.net/Tabletopia.

I'm very much on the same plan as Scott at the moment, and probably will be for the rest of this year, but will see what happens.

I've not really been able to get into online boardgaming much - done it a bit but it's not nearly as fulfilling as playing a game with my mates around the table. As such I've barely played anything since March and don't see that changing any time soon.
It's not just boardgaming though - I don't much fancy going to the pub or the cinema at the moment either!
If the situation improves then great, but I don't think I see it happening this year for me. Love to be proved wrong though!

Personally I think I’ll hold off for a bit longer. If anyone is wanting to play in a (very) small group I.e. 2 households as per current rules then you may want to look at the treehouse website. At the moment, you can take your own games and there’s no cover charge if not using their games (actually it’s optional). Of course, like the red deer it would be nice to buy food or drink :-)
Guess outdoor board games are out of the question lol?
