International Tabletop Day - 30th April
I think we've missed the deadline to register an official event but I assume we'll want to organise something?

It was good fun last year... would be good to do something again this time.... kid friendly again?
Re: International Tabletop Day - 30th April
Maybe we could take over the downstairs as well? Invite Patriot to run some game demos.

Let's speak to Ash about the Uni Arms.

Re: International Tabletop Day - 30th April
Ok we have the usual upstairs room at the Uni Arms booked - midday to 11pm! On a Saturday they only do food until 5pm... but if there is a massive call for evening food... something can be organised in advance... we just need to let him know... so make your intent known now...
I will probably head there with the kids for midday and play until mid afternoon... 4/5pm. So we will eat lunch but that's it... probably bring - pitchcar, Thunderbirds, animal upon animal, Rhino hero, Get me off this planet... and other family type games...

I'm in Leicester during the day, but may be able to make it down in the evening if people will still be around.

I'd be up for some eclipse, also tempted to bring along Talisman

I really should have checked first, but, is it okay for some of us to play Eclipse? If it's strictly a family friendly affair, maybe Eclipse isn't appropriate (or maybe there isn't enough space). What do you guys think?

I think it would be fine. I guess we should be treating this as a bit more of an advert for boardgaming than a regular gaming session and hopefully we'll be getting a few people along who haven't got into the whole modern boardgaming scene yet. There'll be some family-friendly games that people coming along can jump straight in to, but maybe also having this big impressive looking game going on in one corner would be a pretty good advert for another side of the hobby. X-wing would be good for a spectacle, too.
I won't play Eclipse myself, though. I think I'll be all about the light stuff. Maybe a bit of Codenames, Animal Upon Animal or Camel Up.

Yes a mix of games is essential... Intro, kids, euro, Ameritrash, war games...And don't forget this is an all day event and the younger families (me and mine for sure) will probably leave late afternoon/tea time - and the geek fest can continue .
Re: International Tabletop Day - 30th April
I'll be there, probably with kids in tow and a good selection of games.

Yeah, that's great news Scott. I'll add him to the list!
Re: International Tabletop Day - 30th April
My dad and I may come along in the day. I'll bring a couple of games.
We're thinking of a Dambusters Wings of War game
