Re: Roll With It 2016
M please
Labyrinth (light tile place/route builder/abstract, classic, 4 player)
Mangrovia (light gateway euro, 5 player [better with 4 though])
Sea of Clouds (light card draft/set collection, 4 player)
Wombat Rescue (light pick up and deliver, 4 player)
Games I'll bring if noone else is (but I know a few people have them, so we should probably sort that out somehow as I don't want to bring them all myself and deprive you of that joy):
King of Tokyo
Kodama
Forbidden Desert
Carcassonne
Codenames
Citadels
Edit: Just thought- some of these are in the club library. Are we providing that, or is that a no go?

Re: Roll With It 2016
As far as I'm aware, they are the same as last year. I'll let you know otherwise
Generally we're looking for lighter games so people can keep playing and experiencing new games.
Although I don't really mind if people run more in depth games. If you are able to run big games to include more players e.g. Large games of X-wing will allow multiple people to play (each controlling a ship or 2) or games like formula D that allows up to 10 players is good.
Then again games like King of Tokyo were a hot last year.
I'm not really a member of your club so I don't know if the club library games are available or not...
It would be good if someone could demo games like Forbidden Desert, Forbidden Island, and Sushi Go (or any other game by 'Coiled Spring Games' as they are very interested in the event and are keen to attend next year (sadly I asked them too late this year so they were already booked up).
I'm hoping this event can help all aspects of the community, local gaming stores like patriot and outpost and clubs like yours, you may benefit from more members and contacts in gaming too.
It does seem to be attracting more interest...

Re: Roll With It 2016
Thanks Jen.
That's a shame Paul, I kinda know what you mean though, next year I get married so I'm not sure if or when I can run the event cos my fiancé thinks the wedding trumps Roll With It... Lol
Did I miss you off Carl? Sorry I'll get your shirt added to the order.
I suppose I'm just gonna ask that you all invite your mates and anyone you meet if you've not done already
it should be pretty decent this year

Re: Roll With It 2016
Hey Rob. Â I am still happy to help with this. Â The games I can bring and would be best suited to demo (because I know them very well) are:
Sushi Go Party
Mysterium (w/ Hidden Signs expansion)
Mysterium seems a bit complex, but it's not really. Â Though it can be long, like 2+ hours with set-up if you're playing with a full group of 7. Â I think it's a good choice because it has broad appeal and works for families (children probably 10+) and is fully co-op.
If you want me to demo either of these, just let me know. Â My t-shirt size is XXL.

Re: Roll With It 2016
Shame I'm busy that weekend or I would've leant a hand! However, I do illustration work so if you need any pretty pictures for promotional things, posters, signs etc. I could knock some up (for free of course), if it's not too late in the day that is. My website is here (I also do colour)
Re: Roll With It 2016
That's awesome Paulyg thank you
Rich that would be awesome, if you could do anything for the event, also if you have any promotional things for your artwork I can hand bits out or put bits up for you

Re: Roll With It 2016
I could bring
Welcome to the Dungeon
Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space
Dobble
Diamant
Jungle Speed
Samurai
Barking Up The Wrong Tree (since it's a prize)
and maybe a few others. I could also contribute some ships to an X-Wing fleet if somebody's doing that.

Re: Roll With It 2016
The promo events didn't go ahead as Waterstones couldn't fit us in and WH Smith's weren't interested.
Then I'd been too busy to arrange any others
Thanks Tom that's awesome!
Aneurin, would you be interested in running another Pitch Car tournament?
Also does anyone have any other ideas for competitions?
I'm gonna try a subutteo penalty shootout competition, however I may have to man the doors so would anyone be able to cover this if I'm unable? I was thinking most consecutive penalties scored wins a prize.
I'm gonna stay away from a splendor tournament as only 4 people could play at a time and it took a lot of time. It also brought an element of seriousness to the event and I wanna keep it fluid and fun...

Re: Roll With It 2016
For tournaments, how about Captain Sonar if someone's able to bring it along? If 4 teams of 4 can be got together then it's just two semi-finals and a final.

Re: Roll With It 2016
The problem with organised play like that, is what if more than 8 people want to play? I don't want to start telling people that they can't take part.. I want things to be open to everyone

Quite apart from the tournament idea I think Captain Sonar would be a good fit for the event - its a big fun team game that plays lots of people, and is fairly simple to get to grips with.
Re: Roll With It 2016
I don't know the game..
I'm happy for it to be ran, I'm just wary of games being run with a tournament structure that limits the number of players or takes up lots of time, meaning entrants don't have much time to experience other things

I don't know the venue so can't say - It is important that the captains channel their inner Brian Blessed though!
Re: Roll With It 2016
Iv just had confirmation that WellChild are unable to order any XXL and XXXL t-shirts in time for the event.
I currently have:
1 XXL (and need 3 in total)
and
1 XXXL (and need 2 in total)
Does anyone still have any from last year as I know some people kept them.
They are the same design as this year, if so I can get them cleaned up and we could use them again this year...

I think I probably still have my t-shirt from last year Rob, if so, more than happy to reuse it (it's not XXL or XXXL though).
